Indoor LED lighting

Indoor LED lighting is the future of lighting. The incandescent bulb has been with us for over 100 years and in that time it hasn’t changed much. It is a dinosaur. A standard 40 watt incandescent tungsten bulb will loose about 98% of its energy input as heat. On the other hand an indoor LED lighting setup only looses around 20% of the energy input as heat, the rest is light. This means that with your 40 watt incandescent bulb only 2 watts of energy reach you as light! LED lights also last longer; between 50,000 to 100,000 hours of use compared to about 1000 to 5,000 hours for incandescent bulbs. This means you could leave a 100,000 hour LED light switched on all day and every day and it would last about 11 years before it needed changing!

In world of increasing demand for oil, led lighting could not come at a better time and research companies and manufacturers are all working to improve the technology and manufacturing process so that led lighting becomes a full blown reality.

Already, led lighting products exist as replacements or upgrades in several market and can be used to light up your home, pool,  garden or street in an energy efficient way.
